WEST LULWORTH VILLAGE HALL FIRE POLICY.
The Village Hall is a registered charity with a committee responsible for its management.
This policy applies to all users, hirers, trustees/committee members, contractors and sub-contractors at any time present in the Village Hall.
The policy will be brought to the attention of the above and be posted on the hall notice board in the lobby together with the information regarding action to be taken in the event of a fire.
The following key items will be put in place by the Management Committee.
Escape Routes and Exits.
All fire exits will be clearly signed and regularly checked and maintained and escape routes kept free from obstruction at all times.
Fire Fighting Equipment.
All fire fighting equipment will be visually checked on a regular basis and will be serviced and maintained on an annual basis by a recognized and certificated contractor and the results /action recorded.
In addition regular checks in accordance with the contractors recommendations will be carried out on the Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting Systems. Both of these systems will also be the subject of servicing and maintenance by the appointed contractor. All inspections will be recorded in the appropriate log.
Event Organisation and Limitation.
At no point would the Village Hall stage or host events that required attendance of more than 200 attendees. Layout of tables , chairs and other required items would be arranged so as to facilitate rapid and safe evacuation should it be necessary.
Fire Doors.
All fire doors/hatches will be operated in line with fire regulations and when the building is vacated will be checked to ensure the are left in the required position to safeguard the building from fire.
